Well
today we received our housing assignment for our first semester. So for the first 15 weeks I am on the island
I will be living in Columbus hall with an ocean view from ALL windows!!
I will have my own studio room but I have neighbors right across the
hall. I did find out the accent wall was
blue so my bedding should match. Blue is
a lot better, to me, then the awful yellow or orange I have seen. So what does this studio apartment cost you
may be asking…, $775 a month with all utilities included.
Columbus
hall was named after Christopher Columbus and I know we all know so much about
his explorations. Christopher Columbus
was the first European to record the existence of St. Kitts on November 12,
1493, during his second voyage to the New World. He is said to have named the
island after his patron saint, St. Christopher, known as a guide and protector of
travelers. Columbus’ ancestry is still in question but he represented Spain on
several voyages. Questions still linger as to his actual burial place with the
three most likely resting spots being Seville, Spain; Santo Domingo, Dominican
Republic; or Havana, Cuba.Even though I have a room number for my first semester at Ross University, I do not use this number in my address. No matter where I live on the island, my address will always be the same during your entire time at Ross University and in St. Kitts:

ReplyDeleteI just found your blog through a google search of Columbus Hall. I was just assigned my housing for my first semester, and was wondering what Columbus was like, compared to the others. Also, you mentioned your rabies shots being pretty brutal....in what way? Do they actually make you sick? Did you get any bad side effects from them? How long do they make you feel crappy?
What was your first semester like? How many classes do you take per semester? Is the workload manageable? Do the teachers help you? Are their office hours? Are there tutors?
I would really like to know more and I look forward to hearing from you.

Hello, I loved Columbus hall and living on campus. Pretty much all the halls are the same thing so no matter where you are you will like it.
ReplyDeleteThe second rabies shot hurt the most since I had to go back to work right after it and you are suppose to rest. I wasn't sick just didn't "feel good" for a day but after that I was completely fine.
First semester was a blast (compared to second). It is overwhelming at first but you get the hang of it. The workload is manageable...just have to stay on top of everything. Teachers are great and there are TA (free) and tutors (cost 20 ec for a hour).
