Where does time go? I can’t believe it is the middle of
May. I leave for school in exactly 101
days. I have been using my “free” time
to get things accomplished. I went to
the dentist and eye doctor. Everything
went fine. I have a doctor’s appointment
Thursday for blood work and such. I am
fighting with my insurance for them to pay for a few of my medical things I
need for vet school. I need a titer test
for hepatitis A and B, a tetanus shot, rabies test, TB, and RPR. Just thinking about it hurts my arms!!
I am still gathering items to take over to the island (I
sure hope there is enough room in our suitcases). Trying to make a list of everything I need to
take over. Maybe I will post it here so
people can add things that I have forgotten.
I guess if I do forget something I can have it shipped to the island or
just wait 15 weeks until I come back.
I have sent my flight
information into the school so they can make arrangements on their end. When we arrive on the island, we are met with
our orientation leader and are taken to our housing. Maybe I should warn them about the amount of
bags I will have?? I arrive on the island Saturday afternoon. I have the rest of Saturday, Sunday and Monday
to relax, get my room set up, and collect items I need. Then Tuesday through the following Sunday is
packed with orientation activities. The activities
(that I know of) include tours of various tourist spots on the island, zip
lining, getting your banking/driving “stuff” set up, and a whole lot of food
and a few drinks. I do all of these activities
with my orientation group which is composed of an older student and fellow
students with our family members that have come with us.
I am started to get really excited and nervous to
leave. I know I am going to miss things
around home: family, friends, dogs shows, AXO, events, etc but I know there are
new things waiting for me on the island.
